Кисәтү - Warning
Dear Sir, you are free to do whatever you wish outside of Tatar Wikipedia. Within the project, however, local participants community has the right to collect and keep all materials and links that are not forbidden by offline laws. The link you are trying to delete is falling into this very category. Please note, that your efforts to fight against local community elected admins is not something welcomed and seen as breach of cross-wiki principles. Please drop your efforts, which are destructive for the local community. Thank you for understanding. I have already requested one of the non-ttWP guys to back off, now repeating to you. Both of you actions are characterizing German community as disrespectful to others. frhdkazan (бәхәс) 8 дек 2024, 09:49 (UTC)
- Hi @Frhdkazan, I don't think there was a need for this warning, I thought I had made it clear that this was a mistake and that I respect your decision [1]. But I'll follow your request of course! Note that this was not an action done as a dewiki member, that's a coincidence. I followed a report to the Stewards from an srwiki admin [2] and globally blocked this IP-range [3] due to excessive linkspam. Afterwards I did a crosswiki check [4] for links which were still online. If your community wants to keep spamlinks, that's of course your decision. Johannnes89 (бәхәс) 8 дек 2024, 10:25 (UTC)
- @Johannnes89, I thank you for understanding and respecting local community.
- I suspect there is a need for changes into crosswiki spam fighting procedure you and your colleagues are following, as this and previous incidents in ttWP seem to prove that something has gone seriously wrong.
- In case of small wikis, like ttWP or smaller, spending time away from the local project is a luxury most can't afford, so this srwiki guy's request (as well as those from all others from enWP or deWP etc.) should be better wetted before stewards move to act on them. I do not believe the user you globally blocked deserved it & see you as infringing on stewardship you were entrusted to perform.
- regards, frhdkazan (бәхәс) 8 дек 2024, 10:41 (UTC)
- I vetted the request and this behaviour [5] is definitely crosswiki spam which is prohibited by the WMF Terms of Use which are covering all projects. The global block is enforcing those global policies. But it's of course your decision how to deal with such links in your articles, I will not interfere with that. Best regards --Johannnes89 (бәхәс) 8 дек 2024, 10:52 (UTC)
- Thanks again. It seems that what's seen as bad in some cases by some communities is actually good, valuable and desired for others. Thus Terms of Use might also be either flawed or misinterpreted/misattributed by acting stewards, if they serve as basis for your above mentioned uniform cross-wiki spam fighting actions. frhdkazan (бәхәс) 8 дек 2024, 11:25 (UTC)
